How to import questions from a previous online exam

You can reuse questions from earlier exams instead of typing them again. Which questions can be imported depends on the exam type.

Which questions can be imported

General exams can import:

• Questions from earlier General exams.
• Questions created for specific subjects in earlier exams.

Subject Specific exams can import:

• Questions created for the same subject in earlier exams.
• Questions created for subjects with the same subject code.

Open the import page

You can click the Import Question button right after creating the exam, or do it later:

1. Go to Menu → Academics → Examination → Online Exam → View Online Exams.
2. Select a batch.
3. Select the exam you want to add questions to.
4. In the upper-right corner, click Import Questions.

Import questions into a General exam

1. Select the question type: General or Subject Specific. The left panel lists the questions available to import, and the questions already in the exam are highlighted in yellow.

2. If you selected Subject Specific, select the course and the subject code. Questions previously created for that subject appear in the left panel.

   Note: The course list also includes deleted courses.

3. Select the questions you want, enter the marks, and click Import. Imported questions are highlighted in yellow. Repeat for all the questions you need.

4. To remove a question from the exam, select it and click Remove.

5. When you have finished importing or removing questions, click Finish.

Import questions into a Subject Specific exam

1. Select the course and the subject code. The left panel lists the questions available to import, and the questions already in the exam are highlighted in yellow.

   Note: The course list also includes deleted courses.

2. Select the questions you want, enter the marks, and click Import. Imported questions are highlighted in yellow.

3. To remove a question, select it and click Remove.

4. When you have finished, click Finish.
