What is the use of priority in ranking levels?
Priority decides which ranking level a student is listed under when they meet the criteria of more than one level.
You can set a priority for each ranking level you create, and this is very important. If a student meets the criteria of two ranking levels, they are listed under the ranking level with the higher priority.
For example, a student who has passed and also achieved a first class should normally appear in the first-class list, so the first-class ranking level should have the higher priority.
Example
A student scores 85%. Based on the ranking levels defined, they qualify for two lists:
- First Class: minimum 80% in at least 4 subjects.
- Second Class: minimum 70% in at least 4 subjects.
Based on their marks, the student should appear in the first list (students with a first class), so the First Class ranking level should have the highest priority.

You can change the priority order easily by clicking the arrows. The ranking level with the highest priority appears at the top, followed by the next one, and so on.
Examples of ranking levels
Referred
- GPA level: 2.50, GPA limit type: Upper, meaning the student’s GPA is below 2.50.
- Number of subjects: 3, Subject limit type: Upper, meaning the student has fewer than 3 subjects with a GPA below 2.50.
A student meeting both conditions falls in the Referred ranking level.
Failed
- GPA level: 2.50, GPA limit type: Upper, meaning the student’s GPA is below 2.50.
- Number of subjects: 3, Subject limit type: Lower, meaning the student has failed more than 3 subjects.
A student meeting both conditions falls in the Failed ranking level.
Absent
- GPA level: 0, GPA limit type: Exact, meaning the student’s GPA is exactly 0.
- Number of subjects: 1, Subject limit type: Lower, meaning the student was absent in more than one subject.
A student meeting both conditions falls in the Absent ranking level.
Passed
- GPA level: 2.50, GPA limit type: Lower, meaning the student’s GPA is above 2.50.
- Number of subjects: 6, Subject limit type: Exact, meaning the student must score above 2.50 in exactly 6 subjects.
A student meeting both conditions falls in the Passed ranking level.
First Class
- GPA level: 4.0, GPA limit type: Lower, meaning the student’s GPA is above 4.
- Number of subjects and Subject limit type are left empty.
Regardless of the GPA in individual subjects, any student whose total GPA is above 4 falls in the First Class ranking level.
