Change the student sort order after assigning roll numbers

Yes, you can change the student sort order at any time. If you change it after assigning roll numbers, students are re-arranged according to the new sort order, but their assigned roll numbers stay the same.

Note: Make sure Enable roll number for students is selected in General Settings before you start managing roll numbers.

Change the sort order

At the top of your dashboard, click Menu → Administration → Settings → Manage Student Roll Numbers to open the Manage roll number page.

1. Click Edit beside the current sort order.
2. In the dialog box that opens, click Edit.
3. Choose the new sort order and click Save.

Students are arranged according to the new sort order, while their previously assigned roll numbers remain unchanged.
