How should I name courses and batches?
Practical naming examples for your structure — a single batch, several sections, or university semesters.
Naming depends on your academic structure. Three common cases:
| Case | Course name | Batch name |
|---|---|---|
| 1. One batch per grade | Grade 10 | 2026 |
| 2. Several sections | Grade 10 | A 2026, B 2026 |
| 3. University semesters | Computer Science Engineering – Semester 1 | June 2026, December 2026 |
Case 1: one batch
If a grade has one group of students, keep it simple: course 10, batch 2026.
Case 2: several sections
If students in the same grade and year are split into sections, create one batch per section, e.g. A 2026 and B 2026.
Case 3: university model
For semester-based programmes, use the programme and semester as the course (e.g. Computer Science Engineering – Semester 1) and one batch per intake (e.g. June 2026, December 2026).
Rule of thumb: the system is flexible — name courses, sections and batches to match your own academic structure, whether you are a school or a university.
