What is PIN-based registration and how do I set up PINs?
PIN-based registration collects elective fees at registration using unique 14-digit PINs. Here are the three setup steps.
The purpose of PIN-based registration is to collect the fee for elective subjects during registration. The applicant pays the configured fee to obtain a PIN, and uses it to register for the course.
A PIN is a unique 14-digit number that is generated and issued to applicants for online course registration through the applicant registration module.
Note: If registration is free, you don’t need to use PINs.
Setup steps
- Set up the course batches for the new academic year you are opening admission for, including the elective subjects and the amount to pay for each subject. See How to specify a course subject amount.
- Configure the Magic PINs in the registration module settings. See How to configure the Magic PINs.
- Configure the registration course settings for each specific course. See How to do course-wise applicant registration and enable Magic PIN.
To see how applicants use their PIN, see How to register using PIN-based registration.
