How do I send an SMS to students?

Before you start

You can only send an SMS to a student if:

• The Send SMS to Students checkbox is selected on the SMS Settings page.
• The Enable SMS Features checkbox is selected in the student’s profile, and the profile contains the student’s registered mobile number.

Steps to send an SMS to students

1. Go to Menu → Administration → Settings → SMS → Send SMS to Students. The Students page opens.

2. Select a batch. All students in that batch are listed.

   Note: If a student’s profile has no mobile number for the student or guardian, the student’s name is greyed out and cannot be selected.

3. Select the student(s) who should receive the message.

4. Enter your message. Up to 160 characters counts as one message. Longer messages are split and delivered as several messages, and each part is deducted from your SMS balance.

5. Click Send SMS.
