Normal vs elective subjects
The difference between a normal (mandatory) subject for the whole batch and an elective subject chosen by students.
Normal subject
A normal subject is compulsory and must be completed to meet the course requirements. It applies to all students in the batch, ensuring the same curriculum for everyone.
Elective subject
An elective subject is optional and can be chosen from a list of subjects according to the study plan. Electives are organised in elective groups for easier management.
Key difference
| Normal subject | Elective subject | |
|---|---|---|
| Requirement | Mandatory | Optional |
| Who takes it | All students in the batch | Students who choose it or are assigned to it |
| Organisation | Added directly to the batch | Added inside an elective group |
